Divorce is painful. Being a “divorced Catholic” can be a difficult burden. The single parent often feels overwhelmed by task of doing it all alone. Our speakers will be sharing, through their personal life experiences, how they remained connected to God in these challenges. One can find a full life and even love again in Christ.
SPEAKER BIOS
Beth Oley has been the Director of Youth Formation at St. Joseph Parish in Lake Orion since 2014. Beth is an alumnus of St. Joseph Catholic grade school and St. Mary Academy high school, both in Monroe MI. She earned a teaching degree at Western Michigan University and certification in catechetics through the Archdiocese of Detroit. An employee of the Archdiocese since 1988, Beth has served previously at three parishes, as DRE at St. Joseph in Monroe & St. Alfred in Taylor, and at St. Frances Cabrini in Allen Park as a teacher of high school religion. Beth is the mother of two adult children and grandmother to three.
Bob Alexander has been a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Parish for many years. He has served God exceptionally well as co-coordinator of the RCIA program for 10+ years. Bob began a new chapter in his life serving the Lord as co-facilitator of our program for separated and divorced Catholics, “Journey of Hope”. Bob has been married to his beautiful wife Mary for two years, and he also has two adult sons whom he loves dearly. Bob has a fervent desire for all he meets to come to know the Lord like he has through encounter, prayer, the Sacraments and the Mass.
