Connect with Jesus Through Suffering Speaker: Friar Johnpaul Cafiero
Friar Johnpaul returns for one evening to lead us in the Stations of the Cross, and then to offer us a reflection on “Connecting with Jesus in Suffering: Reflections from the Foot of the Cross.” Come and join us as we pray together and explore some lessons about faith in the midst of suffering.
SPEAKER BIO Friar Johnpaul Cafiero, OFM is a Franciscan Priest of the Sacred Heart Province of Chicago/ St.Louis. Born and raised in the New York Metro area, Friar Johnpaul is the oldest of an ltalian/Polish Catholic family. He is a former police officer who has worked as a counselor and chaplain at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago. As a follower of St. Francis of Assisi, Friar Johnpaul's love of the poor and outcasts is only surpassed by his love of scripture. Friar Johnpaul has lectured and preached throughout the United States and internationally, and serves as a pastoral associate and preacher at Holy Family Parish in Inverness, and a chaplain for the Illinois State Police.
